Who Is Phoenixx Factor Designs?

Bringing your visions to life through wire art

Jennifer ~ Proprietor & Designer

I am so pleased to meet you!

Since I was a kid, I have loved creating things with my hands. I learned to knit and crochet in the 2nd grade; I immensely enjoyed macrame in the Girl Scouts; and feel I have found my true calling as a wire artist.

In high school and into my late twenties, I was a color guard girl in marching band, winter guard, and drum & bugle corp (Go Blue Knights!). The performing arts contributed so much to my personal development and drive as well as to my creativity and a deep, abiding love for costumes!

My employment history includes everything from fast food and video rentals to graphic design and catering. I have also worked for many creative entrepreneurs as they began their small business journeys. Some of my favorite experiences also included building and operating PNW electronic music events and festivals, often as a volunteer.

In 2017, I obtained my BA in Sustainable Enterprise Management and went on to complete my MA in Organizational Management in 2019.

“One woman’s trash is another woman’s upcycled treasure”

Phoenixx Factor Designs started out as an effort to reduce waste and participate in upcycling materials to keep them out of landfills. I made hats and fingerless gloves from reclaimed materials, which I initially endeavored to sell to help supplement my income as a Sous Chef for a small catering company (2008).

I am excited to revisit these projects now that my brand has evolved to its current state. I still strive to save and reuse as many materials as I can and often dismantle jewelry I have obtained in the many free-piles one can find here in Portland. "One woman's trash is another woman's upcycled treasure!"

The joy I receive from wire wrapping can be summed up by the versatility of the materials and their nearly infinite potential.  Not only can I explore my own imagination, but I get to be an active participant in bringing yours to life.  This is what I refer to as "the Phoenix Factor," where everything that we were and everything that we are evolve into everything that we could be and more.
